The Bwlch impresses once again!

The weekend of 19/20th August saw us flying in some superb conditions from ‘Mickeys’ slope at The Bwlch, South Wales, as guests of the SWSA.

With good strength winds and (once the morning low cloud had lifted) sunny conditions both days, we enjoyed some superb flying in huge skies all in a very relaxed and enjoyable format.

There were a few new models on show, despite the walk up from the Ice Cream car park – Jez Billington stole the show on day 1 with his gorgeous Hawker Hunter prototype (see title image) built for PSS from an old Mick Reeves ducted fan moulded fuselage.  This model put on a superb demonstration particularly on the second flight of the day where Jez had it dialled in and trimmed very nicely.  We’ll see a lot more of this one I know!

Thanks to all who travelled and took part over the two days, we achieved some really memorable flying – a more detailed report and plenty more photos to follow soon!
