Canadian airforce CF/A-18 Hornet
built by Phil Cooke - converted from the Electric Jets power kit by Kevin Cox.
Model spans just 29" and weighs 1.25lb. Converted to PSS from a kit originally designed for electric ducted fan, the model uses 2 channel radio to control ailerons and elevator. Dummy Sidewinder missiles made from doweling and thin ply are retained using press studs mounted on the wing tips.

Phil lends some scale to this diminutive model at the 'Bosley Cloud' site in Cheshire. The model only flew well in strong lift conditions due to its high wing loading, but looked most realistic when in flight. |
