Built from the Durable Aircraft Models EPP kit by Phil Cooke, this large Lockheed T-33 'Shooting Star' spans an impressive 72" and has an AUW of approx 5lb.

Model is completely formed from white EPP with hardwood spars in wing and tail.  It is finished with strapping tape, white Solarfilm and Trim.

Ric Cooke lends scale to this impressive scale foamie!  The tip tanks (also foam) are a 'push fit' onto the wing and are designed to knock off if required on landing.

Model uses 4 channel RC for elevator, aileron, rudder and nose release (fitted for aerotow!)

It's finished here in the famous colours of the USAFAT 'The Thunderbirds".

Seen here flying in formation with Simon Cockers T-33 (from the same kit) at the Lleyn PSSA event in May 2005.

The size and stability of this model make it ideal for formation flying, the odd knock having no effect on the EPP structure and finish!

Martin Middleton is seen here with his Thunderbirds T-33!

3 kits were shipped to the UK from the US and Martin completed the trio for slope formation purposes.

Martin successfully fitted working flaps to the wing on his model, and test flew it at the Sheffield Soaring Associations event in Summer 2005 when this shot was taken.
