The Hawker Sea Fury was one of the fastest and most
powerful piston engine powered aircraft ever designed, as such it has
inspired many modellers in all divisions of radio controlled flight, PSS
is no exception. Here are a few examples of members models...
Steve Kemp has successfully converted his
PSS Sea Fury from the Balsa Craft power kit.
All built up construction, the model spans 48"
and weighs in at 2.5lbs. Controlled by 3 Ch radio for
ailerons, elevator and rudder.
It is sprayed with acrylic paint and decals
are cut from self adhesive trim and film.
EPP Hawker Sea Fury designed and built by
Phil Cooke.
A1/8th scale model, it spans 60"
and uses 2 Ch R/C to control ailerons and elevator.
Formed entirely from Black EPP and covered in brown
paper and PVA. AUW is over 7lbs, giving a wing loading of 26oz/sq ft.
Performance is superb on the right day, but it needs
sufficient lift to get going!
