Just
as the classic F-86 Sabre proved a popular PSS model, the clean lines and
proportions of its adversary, the Mikoyan MiG-15 Fagot has proven a success on the
slope too. Here are a couple of examples of this classic Russian
fighter.
Robert Maclean from New
Zealand built this Mikoyan MiG-15 from Neil McHardy's popular
plan.
AUW is just 1.5lbs and the
model is reported to fly very well.
Robert has finished his MiG in
the colours of the Chinese Airforce - making it a licence built
Shenyang J(F)-2.
Andy Blackburn's superb Mikoyan
MiG-15, built from the Neil McHardy plans by Steve Griffiths and
Mike Briggs.
It has been modified to include a working
rudder and scale ailerons. It has an AUW of 30oz which gives
a wing loading of 13.5 oz/sq ft.
It's finished in
silver ProFilm with classic Russian airforce markings, and won 'Best
Jet' prize at Abersoch in 2000.
Neil McHardy looks pleased with his O/D Mikoyan
MiG-15 Fagot.
Neil is seen here at the Hole of Horcum PSS
event in 1997.
