The Chance-Vought Corsair Collection

The inverted gull-winged naval fighter has proven popular off the slope in all sizes, here is a selection of Corsair models from around the world.

Glenn Salisbury's Chance-Vought F4U-1 Corsair built from the OZ Skunkworx moulded kit.

Model spans 52" and has an AUW of approx 6.5lbs giving a loading of ~34 oz/sq. ft on its RG14 wing section.

Model is made with a 3-peice fibreglass fuselage and glass covered foam wing panels.

Max McCullough's F4U Corsair captured convincingly in flight in the blue skies of Australia.

Built from the Alan Hulme plans, this model spans 49" and has an AUW of just 3lbs.

Large scale F4U-1 Corsair built by Phil Pearson and converted to PSS from the Brian Taylor I/C power plans.

Model Spans 61.5" and is conventionally built up from balsa and ply with a fibreglass cowling.

Model was seen at the September 2009 Llandudno PSSA Fly-In.

Nigel Moule successfully converted the all foam Alfa electric F4U Corsair kit to PSS.

Spanning just 33" and weighing very little this model proved ideal on those gentle slope days when more conventional PSS machines were grounded.
