The Canberra Collection

The Canberra lends itself well to PSS conversion with its ample wing area and clean flowing lines.  Here are a few examples of the type.

Simon Cocker now operates this mighty example of the Canberra T.18 designed and built originally by Matt Jones.

1/7th scale, 110" span and 23lb AUW this model has plenty of energy and presence on the slope!

Underside view of Simon Cocker's Canberra in action showing the distinctive yellow and black stripes of this late RAF Target towing scheme.

Model is seen here flying off Bosley Cloud in Cheshire.

Australian PSSA member Glenn Salisbury sent pictures and details of his own design English Electric Canberra B.20.

The model spans 60" and is built up from balsa, ply and foam, with a white foam wing.  The nacelles are formed in fibreglass.

It is covered in Solartex and is seen here finished in the colours of the Royal Australian Air Force.

Terry Lidstone has built  this impressive English Electric Canberra T.4 from the plans by Andy Blackburn.

All built up construction, the model spans 43" and has a wing loading of 14oz/sq ft.  It flies well in a wide range of slope conditions.

Model is finished in silver Profilm with orange trim as per RAF trainers of this era.

Clean lines of the Canberra are evident in this shot of Terry Lidstone's  model in flight.

Matt Jones designed and built this huge example of the Canberra T.18 and finished it in a late RAF target towing scheme with distinct yellow and black underbelly.

Constructed largely of foam, balsa and ply to 1/7th scale, the model spans 110" and has an AUW of over 23lb.

Model has been fitted with an aerotow release in the nose to allow flat field operations as well as slope!

Vic Steele seen with his own design Martin B-57D, the stretched wing licence built version of the Canberra at a Clywd PSS fly-in.

This model weighed in at 8lb and spanned 108".
