Two shots of the magnificent Blackburn Firebrand, displayed here by designer and builder Martin Hursthouse.

This impressive model spans 104" and weighs in ready to fly at 19lbs.  It has a wing loading at this weight of 27oz/ft2 and utilises the Eppler 374 wing section.

The Firebrand's fuselage is constructed using a Blue Foam plug, which is then covered in brown paper and fibreglass before the blue foam is chemically removed.

The large wing is constructed using conventional built up methods.
